 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Jeffrey Bone of Lake Jackson has been named a
 recipient of the 2012 Silver Beaver Award by the Bay Area Council of
 the Boy Scouts of America; and
 WHEREAS, This distinguished service commendation is the
 highest honor a scout leader can receive at the council level and
 pays tribute to individuals who have made a positive difference in
 the lives of Texas youth through their dedicated work in behalf of
 the organization; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Bone has shared his time and talents as an
 assistant scoutmaster for Troop 328 at Chapelwood Methodist Church
 for 13 years and was previously an assistant den leader for Pack 328
 for nine years, acting as its pack committee chair for much of that
 time; he has attended numerous fall, winter, and summer camps, four
 Webelos camps, and seven Cradle of Texas Day Camps, and he has
 served as Engineering Activity Badge session leader on six
 occasions at the day camps; moreover, he was a jamboree assistant
 scoutmaster for Troop 1734 in 2005 and has helped lead high
 adventure trips in Virginia and Colorado; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Bone was a member of the Bay Area Council
 Anniversary Committee and has attended the Boy Scout Roundtable for
 18 years; he is a member of the district committee and has chaired
 the Eagle Scout Board of Review for the past five years; highly
 respected by his peers, he recently received the District Committee
 Key and was the recipient of the Cradle of Texas District Award of
 Merit in 2002; and
 WHEREAS, He first became involved with the Boy Scout
 organization as a member of Pack 3253 and Troop 253 in Shawnee,
 Oklahoma, and he earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1969; a
 brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow, he spent four summers
 at Camp Theodore Naish and completed a Philmont trek in 1970; and
 WHEREAS, In addition to his scouting activities, Mr. Bone has
 worked for Phillips Petroleum and Chevron Phillips Chemical for 37
 years, and he is currently the senior process engineer at the
 Chevron Phillips Sweeny Plant; he holds a bachelor of science
 degree in chemical engineering from Kansas State University and a
 master's degree in business administration from Oklahoma State
 University, and he is active in a number of professional
 organizations; and
 WHEREAS, Many young men have benefited from the leadership,
 commitment, and enthusiasm of Jeffrey Bone, and he is indeed
 deserving of recognition for his exceptional contributions to the
 Boy Scouts of America; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Jeffrey Bone on his receipt of the
 Silver Beaver Award from the Bay Area Council of the Boy Scouts of
 America and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success
 in his volunteer efforts; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Bone as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
