 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The 100th birthday of an esteemed Texan truly merits
 special recognition, and Elisabeth Guldmann Brannon of Big Sandy
 marked this notable milestone on March 24, 2013; and
 WHEREAS, Born in Waller in 1913, Elisabeth Guldmann traveled
 with her family as a young child to her father's native Denmark,
 where they lived for several years before moving to Canada; at the
 age of 14, she and her mother and sisters came to Houston, and she
 graduated from John H. Reagan High School in 1931; and
 WHEREAS, She married Joseph Brannon in 1935, and the couple
 raised three children, Richard, Ronnie, and Brenda, who have been a
 source of much pride and joy; over the years, Mrs. Brannon has been
 further blessed with 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and
 14 great-great-grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, Devoted to living each day to the fullest, Mrs.
 Brannon has cultivated a wide variety of interests, including
 traveling, reading, gardening, and dancing; a devout Christian, she
 was a longtime member of Champion Forest Baptist Church in Houston
 before moving to Big Sandy; and
 WHEREAS, With her charm, her compassion for others, and her
 generosity of spirit, Elisabeth Guldmann Brannon has earned the
 admiration and affection of countless people through the years, and
 it is indeed a privilege to honor this treasured centenarian; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Elisabeth Guldmann Brannon on her
 100th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
 happiness and good fortune; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mrs. Brannon as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
