H.R. No. 1329
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Freda and Gerald Hedges of Aubrey
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 25, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Hedges were united in matrimony at the
First Baptist Church of Whitesboro in 1962; through the years, they
have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer
with the addition of four children and their spouses, Greg and
Kathleen Hedges, Gary Hedges, Gerri-Gayle and Robert Fowler, and
Libbi and Kevin Brown, as well as nine grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hedges served his country in the U.S. Coast
Guard, worked in retail distribution, and ultimately retired from
Kmart after a number of years as a sporting goods manager; before
her retirement, Mrs. Hedges specialized in geriatrics in the health
care field, serving as an activities director, administrator, and
admissions coordinator; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past
half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant
in their commitment to each other, and the strength of their love
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Freda and Gerald Hedges on their
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Hedges as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
