H.R. No. 1342 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Bobbie Martin Craddock of Winnsboro celebrated her 100th birthday on March 8, 2013, and this milestone is indeed deserving of special recognition; and WHEREAS, Born in 1913 in Quitman, the former Bobbie Edmonds Martin is the daughter of Richard and Eubera Martin; she helped her father deliver the mail to Hainesville, and she was just five years old when she watched the parade marking the end of World War I pass in front of the Quitman courthouse lawn; she attended school in Quitman and graduated from high school in Mineola in 1930; and WHEREAS, She got a job at the Agriculture Adjustment Office in Quitman and began dating a fellow employee, Joe Bailey Craddock; the couple married on March 16, 1940, at the Methodist parsonage in Quitman; and WHEREAS, Soon thereafter, the newlyweds built a house in Winnsboro, where they raised their daughters, Ann, Sue, and Peggy; a dedicated homemaker, Mrs. Craddock supported her husband's farming business for 59 years until his passing in 1999; and WHEREAS, Still living in the house she and her husband built more than seven decades ago, Mrs. Craddock enjoys proximity to two of her daughters who live next door; she also delights in the company of her 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Bobbie Craddock is a source of tremendous inspiration, and in sharing the experience gained through a century of life well lived, she bestows a precious gift of wisdom that benefits all who are fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Bobbie Martin Craddock on her 100th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Craddock as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
