 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Canton Autumn Stroll Barbecue Cook-off takes
 place each year on the second weekend in October; and
 WHEREAS, This popular event is held in conjunction with the
 community's Autumn Stroll festivities and is sponsored by the City
 of Canton Main Street Program, which promotes historic preservation
 and economic development in the downtown area; and
 WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the Lonestar Barbecue Society as one
 of the organization's annual state cook-offs, the Autumn Stroll
 competition features talented chefs facing off against one another
 to produce the tastiest entries in such categories as brisket, pork
 spare ribs, chicken, beans, and salsa; and
 WHEREAS, The Canton Autumn Stroll Barbecue Cook-off offers
 spirited competition and some first-rate Texas-style cuisine while
 benefiting a worthwhile community initiative, and attendees are
 sure to enjoy a good time and good company at this highly
 anticipated get-together; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby commemorate the Canton Autumn Stroll Barbecue
 Cook-off and extend to all those associated with the gathering
 sincere best wishes for a meaningful and memorable event; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the organizers of the cook-off as an expression of high
 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
