H.R. No. 1443
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, During their notable tenure in education, Jim and
Pam Wells have given 66 combined years of service to the Cy-Fair
Independent School District; and
WHEREAS, The couple arrived at Cy-Fair ISD in the late 1970s
after beginning their careers at Spring Branch ISD, where they met;
Jim Wells was initially a teacher and coach at Cypress Creek High
School, and Pam Wells taught at Arnold Middle School; both soon
transitioned into administrative positions, with Mr. Wells
eventually becoming a principal and Dr. Wells becoming an associate
superintendent; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, the pair helped CFISD maintain its
priority of putting the needs of students first as it developed from
a small district of only 19,000 students into the third-largest
district in the state, serving more than 110,000 young people;
Dr. Wells was particularly instrumental in facilitating this
transition, overseeing four successful bond elections that were
essential for the district to keep pace with its growth and maintain
its high quality of education; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Wells retired following the 2011-2012 school
year, but remains engaged in the district, spearheading an
initiative to create a Wall of Fame at Cypress Creek High; Dr. Wells
is now the executive director of Region 4, managing dozens of
districts across seven counties; and
WHEREAS, Active in the greater community as well, the couple
belong to Friends of Reach Unlimited; Dr. Wells is also a member of
Cy-Hope and a board member of the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation,
and Mr. Wells is a charter member of the Willowbrook Rotary Club and
also contributes his time and talents to several other local
organizations; and
WHEREAS, Throughout their years in education, Jim and Pam
Wells have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to Cy-Fair ISD,
and their accomplishments will continue to resonate in the lives of
countless area residents for many years to come; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby recognize Jim and Pam Wells on their 66 combined
years of service to the Cy-Fair Independent School District and
extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success and
happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Jim and Pam Wells as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
