 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, With the retirement of Joe D. Standridge, Jr., and
 Rea Standridge on April 1, 2013, the faculty and staff of Tarleton
 State University bid farewell to two valued members of their
 community; and
 WHEREAS, This notable husband-and-wife team long benefited
 Tarleton State through their professional contributions; Joe
 Standridge, the associate vice president of physical facilities,
 spent more than two decades ensuring that campus buildings met the
 highest possible standards, as evidenced by his receipt of the
 Certified Educational Facilities Professional credential from
 APPA; Rea Standridge, the manager of payroll services, was also an
 outstanding member of the Tarleton staff, having previously shared
 her knowledge and insight working for the Fine Arts Department
 before joining budgets and payroll; together with her husband, she
 continued her support of fine arts at the university as a member of
 ULTRA Club; and
 WHEREAS, The Standridges are active members of the
 Stephenville community, where Mr. Standridge has generously
 volunteered his time at area churches and health care centers; he
 has additionally served as a member of the Knights of Columbus and
 in his role as a mentor for students, he has sought to provide
 encouragement and guidance while fostering leadership skills; in
 recognition of his civic engagement, he was presented with the
 university's Horizon Award in 2011; and
 WHEREAS, For more than 20 years, Joe and Rea Standridge
 handled the duties of their respective offices with the utmost
 dedication and ability, and their contributions have earned them
 the enduring respect and admiration of their friends and colleagues
 at the university; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Joe D. Standridge, Jr., and Rea
 Standridge on their retirement from Tarleton State University and
 extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be
 it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Standridge as an expression of high
 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
