 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Since its founding in 2010, Outreach Afterschool has
 benefited many young Texans at Oak Springs Elementary School in
 East Austin; and
 WHEREAS, Established by the Christian Outreach Foundation,
 Outreach Afterschool provides at-risk students with free meals and
 homework assistance, as well as opportunities for recreation, Bible
 study, and extracurricular learning during the hours of 3 to 6 p.m.;
 and
 WHEREAS, The program is ably guided by a board of directors
 that includes John Lucas, Peter Prescott, Andrew Grabato, and
 Richie Rodriguez and is administered by Kaylie Lucas, Elizabeth
 Hart, De Olagundoye, and Jessica Nelson; thanks to their dedicated
 efforts, Outreach Afterschool has grown steadily and today offers a
 bilingual staff to assist Spanish-speaking students; and
 WHEREAS, Math and reading test scores have improved since the
 program opened at Oak Springs Elementary, which is overseen by
 Monica Woods, principal, and Dr. Cidonio Cantu, assistant
 principal; also vital to the success of the service is Shirlene
 Justice, after-school coordinator for the Austin Independent
 School District; and
 WHEREAS, Children are our most precious resource, and through
 the establishment of Outreach Afterschool, Christian Outreach
 Foundation is investing in the future of the Lone Star State; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby honor Outreach Afterschool and extend to all
 those associated with the program sincere best wishes for continued
 success with their important work; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the Christian Outreach Foundation as an expression of
 high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
