 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Robinson High School boys' powerlifting team won
 the Texas High School Powerlifting Association Region 2 Division 2
 championship on March 9, 2013, in West; and
 WHEREAS, Under the guidance of Coach Ross Caraway, the
 Rockets squared off against more than 25 squads from across Central
 Texas, and seven of the Robinson lifters earned medals by finishing
 in the top five of their weight class; the team compiled a total of
 31 points to beat second-place Navasota High School by a
 comfortable margin and claim the first regional title in school
 history; and
 WHEREAS, Leading the way to victory were three gold-medal
 winners: Miguel Contreras in the 114-pound weight class, Cody
 Brooks in the 148-pound category, and Shane Murphy in the super
 heavyweight class; all three athletes earned the right to represent
 Robinson at the state championships in Abilene, as did Darius
 Jackson, who was the 114-pound silver medalist; and
 WHEREAS, The other team members who contributed to the
 title-winning point total were Cory Sauer and Lane Fikes, who had
 fourth-place finishes, and Hunter Work, who placed fifth; in
 addition, Juan Villa and Ricky Thompson earned ninth place in their
 respective weight classes; and
 WHEREAS, By taking home the 2013 regional crown, the Robinson
 High School lifters proved their team's ability to excel against
 top competition, and they may indeed reflect with pride on a job
 well done; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Robinson High School boys'
 powerlifting team on winning the Texas High School Powerlifting
 Association Region 2 Division 2 championship and extend to the
 team's athletes and Coach Ross Caraway sincere best wishes for
 continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
