H.R. No. 1588
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Harry and Barbara Furlong of
Richardson are celebrating their 58th wedding anniversary on April
22, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Furlong were united in matrimony at a
ceremony held in Oklahoma; over the years, they have nurtured a
fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the
addition of three sons, Michael, Patrick, and Daniel; and
WHEREAS, During their first three years together, Mr. Furlong
was completing his military service at Camp Pendleton in San Diego
County, California; he retired from Hewlett-Packard after more than
25 years of service in 1991 and opened his own business, Furlong
Enterprize, which he operated for about two decades; Mrs. Furlong
has been a devoted homemaker; and
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the
world during the past 58 years, the Furlongs have remained constant
in their commitment to each other, and the strength of their love
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Harry and Barbara Furlong on their
58th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Furlong as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
