No. 1610 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Linda Koop has ably served the citizens of Dallas as the city council member for District 11 since 2005; and WHEREAS, Over the course of her tenure in municipal government, Ms. Koop has distinguished herself as chair of the transportation and environment committee and as a member of the housing, Trinity River Corridor Project, judiciary, and legislative committees; in addition, she has also represented the City of Dallas at the North Central Texas Council of Governments as president of the executive board, chair of the Regional Transportation Council, vice chair of the transit authority partnership subcommittee, co-chair of Rail North Texas, and a member of the clean air steering committee; and WHEREAS, The dedicated leadership of Councilmember Koop has further benefited the executive committee of the Dallas Regional Mobility Coalition, the transportation committee of the National League of Cities, and the Texas Municipal League Task Force on Eminent Domain/Regulation of Development; she has served her fellow citizens as a member of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Board of Directors, and through the years, her exceptional, far-reaching work in transportation has earned her a number of prestigious awards; and WHEREAS, Ms. Koop has also generously shared her time with such worthwhile programs as Send A Kid to Camp, the North Dallas Regional Chamber's Young Professionals program, and the PTA; and WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of life enjoyed by their fellow residents in innumerable ways, and the efforts of Linda Koop are helping to make Dallas an even better place in which to live and work; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby commend Linda Koop for her service on the Dallas City Council and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Councilmember Koop as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
