Little, Jr., of Austin is celebrating his 57th birthday on April 24, 2013, and this occasion provides a welcome opportunity to honor this accomplished businessman; and WHEREAS, Born and raised in the Capital City, Mr. Little earned his bachelor's degree in marketing and his MBA from The University of Texas; he began a notable career in banking in 1981, working first with Texas Commerce Bank in Houston and later with Bank of America in Austin, where he served as president; and WHEREAS, Mr. Little went on to lead Capstar Partners, LLC, before cofounding Harden Healthcare in 2001; in only a decade, he helped the venture to become one of the largest Austin-based privately held companies, generating $800 million in revenue in 2011 alone; today, the group offers home health, hospice care, private duty, assisted living, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation services to more than 40,000 patients in 14 states; and WHEREAS, Respected in the business community, Mr. Little has earned the title of Entrepreneur of the Year in Austin from Ernst & Young; he currently serves as chair of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce and on the boards of the Alliance for Home Health Quality and Innovation, Andrew Harper Travel, ECG Foundation, and the Austin Community Foundation; he has also led the Austin chapter of the World Presidents Organization and contributed to the Texas Business Leadership Council; and WHEREAS, Lew Little may reflect with pride on an outstanding record of professional achievement, and it is indeed fitting to recognize him for 57 years of life well lived; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Lew N. Little, Jr., of Austin on his 57th birthday and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Little as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
