 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew to
 a close when Ella Mae Eagleton of Crosby passed away on December 9,
 2012, at the age of 85; and
 WHEREAS, The former Ella Mae Alfred was born to Eil and Nevada
 Alfred on February 4, 1927, in Morrows, Louisiana; she grew up the
 second of four daughters and graduated from Carver High School in
 Baytown; she later became a licensed cosmetologist and practiced in
 her own shop in Barrett Station; in 1949, she married Mack Eagleton
 II, with whom she had three sons and a daughter, and together they
 enjoyed many years of happiness as a family; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Eagleton was a dedicated member of Mt. Rose
 Church of God in Christ, known as the City of Refuge, for six
 decades; she worked as its secretary from the early 1950s and
 honorably filled the role of church mother; moreover, she conducted
 morning prayer, taught Bible study and Sunday school, and counseled
 many of her fellow congregants; Mrs. Eagleton further
 distinguished herself with her contributions to the Texas Southeast
 Church of God in Christ, which she served as director of children's
 ministries, and she was a teacher at the National COGIC Women's
 Conventions; and
 WHEREAS, Ella Mae Eagleton touched countless people with her
 kindness, wisdom, and devotion, and she will forever be remembered
 with deep affection by all who held her close to their hearts; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ella Mae Alfred
 Eagleton and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family:
 to her children, Ronald Eagleton and his wife, Jeorgia, Gary
 Eagleton and his wife, Cynthia, and Lillian Alexander; to her
 grandchildren, Kwame, Derek, Korey, Damon, Paula, Layla, Amber,
 Mack, Briana, and Devin; to her 12 great-grandchildren; and to her
 many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That when the Texas House of Representatives
 adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ella Mae Eagleton.
