 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Dr. Carol A. Lowe of McLennan Community College took
 office as state president of the Texas Community College Teachers
 Association on April 1, 2013; and
 WHEREAS, The largest organization of postsecondary educators
 in the state, TCCTA is made up of teachers, counselors, librarians,
 and administrators from a variety of public and independent
 community, junior, and technical colleges across the Lone Star
 State; and
 WHEREAS, Dr. Lowe is a member of the English department at
 McLennan Community College in Waco; she earned her bachelor's and
 master's degrees in English from Hardin-Simmons University and her
 doctorate in English from Baylor University; and
 WHEREAS, A professor at MCC since 1987, Dr. Lowe has held a
 variety of leadership positions and earned many distinguished
 teaching awards; in addition, she regularly shares her expertise as
 a public speaker on educational issues; and
 WHEREAS, Every day, the community college teachers of the
 Lone Star State help the next generation of Texans prepare for the
 challenges and opportunities of the 21st century, and Dr. Lowe may
 indeed take pride in her leadership position among these
 outstanding educators; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Carol A. Lowe on taking office
 as president of the Texas Community College Teachers Association
 and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be
 it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Dr. Lowe as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
