H.R. No. 1727
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Kayleigh Ripley of McGregor High School achieved
great distinction with her selection to the 2013 Super Centex
Girls' Basketball Team by the Waco Tribune-Herald; and
WHEREAS, A senior guard, Ms. Ripley was among the elite group
of players chosen for the Super Centex first team; the honor follows
an outstanding season in which she averaged 14 points, 5 rebounds,
and 5 assists per game; and
WHEREAS, This dedicated student-athlete also received two
other prestigious accolades; she was named the District 16-2A
Defensive Most Valuable Player, and her commitment to her
schoolwork earned her a place on the Texas Girls Coaches
Association 2A Academic All-State Team; and
WHEREAS, Kayleigh Ripley has effectively balanced the
demands of academics and athletics while becoming one of the top
players in the area, and she may indeed reflect with pride on her
notable accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Kayleigh Ripley on being named to
the 2013 Super Centex Girls' Basketball Team and extend to her
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Ripley as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
