H.R. No. 1761
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned five
decades, Betty and Jim Flournoy of Lubbock celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary on April 20, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Jim Flournoy and the former Betty Clark exchanged
the vows of matrimony at Slide Baptist Church in Lubbock on that
memorable day in 1963, and over the course of their marriage, they
have found in each other a devoted life partner; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Flournoy count among their blessings a
fine family that includes two children, Brent and Bruce Flournoy,
as well as five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, with
whom they treasure sharing the many special occasions of life; and
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past five decades, Betty and
Jim Flournoy can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and
know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that
many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Betty and Jim Flournoy on their
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Flournoy as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
