No. 1815 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories of Michael Cook Walton of Stephenville, who passed away on March 11, 2011, at the age of 71; and WHEREAS, Michael Walton was born to Ernest Vernon Walton and Estelle Cook Walton on December 22, 1939, in Dallas; he graduated with the Class of 1958 from A&M Consolidated High School in College Station and went on to attend Texas A&M University; and WHEREAS, Mr. Walton began his notable career with the Texas Department of Agriculture in 1962 and retired some three decades later as a district director; while serving with the TDA, he earned the great admiration and affection of his colleagues for his fairness and loyalty as a supervisor and for his caring mentorship; and WHEREAS, Sustained throughout his life by his deep faith, Mr. Walton was a valued congregant of Greens Creek Baptist Church in Stephenville; and WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan was the proud and loving father of three children, Virginia, Michelle, and Michael, and he took infinite joy in his nine grandchildren and his great-grandson; and WHEREAS, Michael Walton enjoyed a life that was rich in the intangibles that matter most, and he is deeply missed by all those who held him dear; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Michael Cook Walton; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family.
