 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, During the 83rd Legislature, Blake I. Allen has ably
 served his fellow Texans as deputy district director in the office
 of State Representative Scott Sanford; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Allen's resourcefulness and initiative are
 greatly appreciated by his colleagues, and his contributions to
 carrying forth Representative Sanford's legislative agenda have
 helped meet the needs of the constituents of House District 70; and
 WHEREAS, A graduate of Naaman Forest High School in Garland,
 Mr. Allen founded the off-road club, played an active role in
 student government, and served as captain of the soccer team during
 his senior year; he went on to play collegiately at Eureka College,
 where he was again selected as team captain his senior year, and he
 also earned a spot on the academic all-conference team; he obtained
 his bachelor's degree in political science, history, and economics
 in 2010; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Allen has gained a wide range of experience
 through the years, working as a coffeehouse manager, an oilfield
 roughneck and welder, a building operations manager, and a
 substitute teacher; in addition, he has shared his time and talents
 as a policy advisor for several political campaigns; and
 WHEREAS, This esteemed public employee has performed his
 duties as deputy district director with skill and determination,
 and he is indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Blake I. Allen for his service as deputy
 district director in the office of State Representative Scott
 Sanford and extend to him warmest best wishes for continued success
 in all his endeavors; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Allen as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
