 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, DuPont is celebrating its 40th anniversary in Corpus
 Christi during 2013; and
 WHEREAS, Located on more than 1,000 acres along Corpus
 Christi Bay, DuPont's Corpus Christi plant began operations in
 1974, following 18 months of construction; the site produces
 refrigerants, aerosol propellants, foam-blowing agents, and a
 pharmaceutical-grade inhaler; the company built the world's first
 and largest alternative-CFC facility in 1990, and the plant
 underwent further expansion just five years later; and
 WHEREAS, DuPont has demonstrated a strong commitment to
 protecting the environment and works diligently to reduce its
 carbon footprint by minimizing emissions; a charter member of Clean
 Texas 2000, the Corpus Christi site is actively involved in waste
 minimization efforts and has been certified to the ISO-14001
 environmental management standard for 10 years; the company also
 rigorously promotes safety as a member of the OSHA Voluntary
 Protection Program, and its Corpus Christi facility has been
 certified as a STAR site since 1984; and
 WHEREAS, Over the course of four decades, DuPont has made
 vital contributions to the economy of the Lone Star State, and it
 has set an outstanding example of good corporate citizenship in its
 community; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate DuPont on the 40th anniversary of
 its Corpus Christi site and extend to all those associated with this
 dynamic company sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be
 it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for DuPont as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
