 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Gabriel Garcia has been participating in the 2013
 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program, and during the 83rd
 Legislative Session, he has ably served his fellow Texans as an aide
 in the office of State Representative Roland Gutierrez; and
 WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Mexican American Legislative
 Leadership Foundation, this program offers outstanding university
 students and recent graduates an opportunity to serve as full-time
 policy interns in the offices of members of the Mexican American
 Legislative Caucus and to gain experience working with the Texas
 Legislature; and
 WHEREAS, Born in Mexico and raised in the Rio Grande Valley,
 Mr. Garcia earned bachelor's degrees in political science and
 history from The University of Texas--Pan American; he plans to
 pursue postgraduate studies in international relations and hopes to
 work as a foreign service officer with the U.S. Department of State;
 and
 WHEREAS, Over the course of his tenure at the State Capitol,
 Gabriel Garcia has been of great assistance to Representative
 Gutierrez's office, while acquiring knowledge of issues facing
 citizens of the Lone Star State; he has performed his duties as a
 legislative aide with skill, perseverance, and dedication, and he
 may indeed look forward to a rewarding future; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby honor Gabriel Garcia as a participant in the
 2013 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program and commend him
 for his notable contributions to the legislative process; and, be
 it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Garcia as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
