H.R. No. 195
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The members of Bear Creek Community Church in Irving
joined together on November 11, 2012, to honor their founding
pastor, Dennis Lee Webb, Sr., for 16 years of dedicated service; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Webb established Bear Creek Community Church
in April 1996, and since that time, he has inspired his congregation
with his outstanding spiritual leadership, compassionate guidance,
and strong faith; and
WHEREAS, An active and valued resident of North Texas, Pastor
Webb has served for nearly three decades with the Grand Prairie Fire
Department, where he currently holds the position of lieutenant;
and
WHEREAS, He was elected to the Irving City Council in 2011 and
has served on the Planning and Zoning Commission, the Urban League
of Greater Dallas, and the Mayor's Human Relations Advisory
Committee; he has further contributed to his fellow residents as a
member of the board of directors of the Bear Creek Development
Corporation and the advisory board of the Irving Youth Action
Council; and
WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Pastor Webb is supported by
his wife of 30 years, Lydia, and their children, Dennis, Robert, and
Myka; today, he is also blessed with four grandchildren, Kynnedi,
Donovan, De'Mykal, and Dylan, and a daughter-in-law, Kyndahl; and
WHEREAS, This inspiring clergyman has demonstrated a
wholehearted commitment to his church and the wider community, and
his many good works have earned him the respect and admiration of
all who know him; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby commend Pastor Dennis Lee Webb, Sr., for his
outstanding 16-year tenure with Bear Creek Community Church and
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success with his
important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Pastor Webb as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
