 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
 passing of Hattye Rogers of Terrell on April 7, 2013, at the age of
 84; and
 WHEREAS, The former "Jo" Carr was born in Lone Oak on October
 31, 1928, to Frankie and Bettie Ann Carr; she graduated from Lone
 Oak High School in 1946, and she went on to work in the new accounts
 department at American National Bank of Texas, where she was
 employed for 20 years before her retirement; and
 WHEREAS, She married Joe Rogers on November 5, 1949, and the
 couple shared more than six decades together and were blessed with
 three sons, Randy, Bill, and Steve; their family eventually grew to
 include seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Rogers was a faithful member of the First
 Baptist Church of Terrell and volunteered much of her time to the
 congregation; she was also involved in her community as a member of
 the Tuesday Morning Coffee Group, the Terrell Book Review Club, and
 the Red Hat Ladies Club; and
 WHEREAS, Known for her simple acts of kindness, Mrs. Rogers
 always made her loved ones feel special on their birthdays, and she
 reached out to them with cards on special holidays as well; in
 addition, she took pleasure in any opportunity to cook for her
 family; among her other interests was traveling, and she enjoyed
 trips both near and far; she brimmed with energy throughout her
 life, and she delighted others with her positive attitude; and
 WHEREAS, Jo Rogers touched the hearts of countless people
 with her caring and selfless nature, and she leaves behind a legacy
 to treasure for those who held her dear; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Hattye "Jo" Rogers
 and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
 husband, Joe T. Rogers; to her children, Randy Rogers and his wife,
 Melinda, Bill Rogers and his wife, Synde, and Steve Rogers and his
 wife, Debi; to her grandchildren, Mitchell Rogers and his wife,
 Michelle, Jonathan Rogers and his wife, Kerri, David Rogers and his
 wife, Brittany, and Adam, Casey, Meredith, and Jake Rogers; to her
 great-grandchildren, Lyla, Caleb, and Casen Rogers; to her niece,
 Martha Taylor; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Hattye "Jo"
 Rogers.
