 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Estelle Sawyer of Corpus Christi passed away on
 April 17, 2013, at the age of 73, leaving her circle of family and
 friends to cherish their many happy memories of time spent in her
 company; and
 WHEREAS, Born in Corpus Christi on August 9, 1939, to
 Eustolia and Reyes P. Perez, the former Estelle Perez grew up with
 three sisters and a brother; she got her first job at the age of 15,
 and as a teen, she was the runner-up in a state typing competition;
 throughout her career, Mrs. Sawyer was known for her strong
 administrative and organizational skills and for her
 professionalism; she retired at the age of 71 from the Corpus
 Christi Independent School District; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Sawyer was an outgoing woman who loved music
 and took great pleasure in playing the piano and guitar and in
 dancing; an active member of her community, she served on the board
 of directors of the Boys Club of Corpus Christi for many years; and
 WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, Mrs. Sawyer enjoyed the
 love and support of her husband, Jerry, with whom she shared more
 than half a century; she also took great pride in her children, Gray
 and Rhonda, and with the passing years, her family grew to include
 four grandchildren, Ashley, Amber, Grayson, and Dalton; and
 WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share in the friendship
 and love of Estelle Sawyer will always remember her with great
 tenderness and affection; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Estelle Sawyer and
 extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
 husband, Gerald Sawyer; to her children, Gerald Gray Sawyer, Jr.,
 and Rhonda Sawyer Ilseng and her husband, Jeff; to her
 grandchildren, Ashley, Amber, and Grayson Ilseng; to her mother,
 Eustolia Perez; to her sisters, Mary Louise Russell and her
 husband, Durrell, Gloria Schulz and her husband, Russ, and Rose
 Marie Ward and her husband, Bill; to her brother, R. P. Perez, Jr.,
 and his wife, Yolanda; and to her other relatives and friends; and,
 be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Estelle
 Sawyer.
