H.R. No. 211
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Joe and Gwen Lewis of Irving
celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on December 24, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis were united in matrimony in 1947;
through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that
has been made even richer with the addition of two children, Vicki
Lamp and Joe Lewis, Jr., as well as five grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Longtime Irving residents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis both
worked in manufacturing management before establishing Ajay's
Irrigation; and
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the
world during the past six and a half decades, this devoted husband
and wife have remained constant in their commitment to each other,
and the strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's
challenges and opportunities with grace and optimism; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Joe and Gwen Lewis on their 65th
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Lewis as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
