R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Tom Howard has been named Man of the Year by the
Winnsboro Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Howard is being sworn in as mayor of Winnsboro on
May 17, 2013; he currently serves as president of the chamber of
commerce and as chair of the organizational committee for the Main
Street Board; a valued member of Central Christian Church, he is
also a Master Mason, and in March 2013, he received his 32nd degree
from the Scottish Rite Masons in Dallas; moreover, he is a member of
the HAWKS Gun Club of East Texas, and he was named HAWK of the Year
in 2011; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan holds a bachelor's degree in
nursing from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston
and a master's degree in public health from American Public
University System; before moving to Winnsboro, he worked as a
flight medic in Alaska; a critical care paramedic and a registered
nurse, he now serves as director of the Quality, Risk Management,
Case Management, and Infection Control Departments at Trinity
Mother Frances Hospital of Winnsboro; and
WHEREAS, Tom Howard has greatly benefited his fellow citizens
through his exemplary contributions to the community, and he is
indeed deserving of this prestigious accolade; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Tom Howard on his selection as Man
of the Year by the Winnsboro Chamber of Commerce and extend to him
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Howard as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
