 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of David
 Raymond Peters of Richardson, who passed away on April 1, 2013, at
 the age of 60; and
 WHEREAS, Raised in Kansas, David Peters earned a bachelor's
 degree in history and a master's degree in counselor education from
 Emporia State University; he later served as associate dean of
 students at Otterbein University in Columbus, Ohio; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Peters eventually made his home in Texas, where
 he worked in the insurance industry for a quarter of a century;
 dedicated to improving his community, he served as chair of the
 board of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce in 1998, and for his
 contributions, he received a lifetime membership in that
 organization; a man of faith and always looking to help others, he
 volunteered with the employment transition ministry and the senior
 youth group at First United Methodist Church of Richardson; and
 WHEREAS, Above all, Mr. Peters cherished his two daughters,
 Erica and Brooke; and
 WHEREAS, While the death of David Peters has brought great
 sadness to his loved ones, he leaves behind a legacy that will
 forever be treasured by all those who shared in the blessing of his
 life; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of David Raymond
 Peters and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to
 his daughters, Erica and Brooke; to his sister, Susan; and to his
 other relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of David
 Peters.
