 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Corporal Brian Hoskins was named the 2013 Police
 Officer of the Year by the Exchange Club of Angleton, and he is
 being honored at a special event held on May 28, 2013, at Angleton
 City Hall; and
 WHEREAS, Hired as a patrol officer in 2004, Corporal Hoskins
 worked in the patrol division until 2009 when he joined the
 investigation division and trained with the Brazoria County
 Narcotics Task Force; he became a full-time member of the task force
 in 2011, serving with personnel from other city and county offices
 as well as from the Department of Public Safety, the Drug
 Enforcement Administration, and Homeland Security; and
 WHEREAS, Corporal Hoskins has been involved in a number of
 cases and arrests related to gambling, money laundering, illegal
 investments, and drug production, and his successful
 investigations have resulted in major disruptions of the drug trade
 in the region; and
 WHEREAS, Members of the law enforcement profession willingly
 place themselves in harm's way each day to safeguard the lives and
 property of the citizens of this state, and through his hard work
 and dedication, Corporal Hoskins has proven himself most worthy of
 special recognition and commendation; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Corporal Brian Hoskins on his
 selection as the Exchange Club of Angleton 2013 Police Officer of
 the Year and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
 success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Corporal Hoskins as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
