H.R. No. 2286 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Logan Randolph is graduating as the valedictorian of the Class of 2013 at Priddy High School; and WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the highest academic standards; to attain this coveted distinction, Mr. Randolph demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and the rewards of the countless hours he has devoted to his studies are myriad; and WHEREAS, In addition to his achievements in the classroom, Mr. Randolph has participated in his school's winning Science and Number Sense teams at University Interscholastic League Academic events; a gifted scholar-athlete, he was a member of the Priddy Cross Country Team that qualified for the state meet for four consecutive years, he currently holds the school's high jump record, and he helped lead the basketball team, earning All-District and All-Region honors in 2013; as vice president and president of the Priddy FFA Chapter and a member of the Ag Mechanics Team, he worked with his teammates to develop a hydraulic buffalo working facility with scales that earned them the overall grand championship at the Houston Stock Show and the San Antonio Stock Show in 2013, among top honors at other events; in addition, the team's welding trailer, goat box, and five-bottom switch plow also took first in class at numerous events throughout the season; after graduation, he plans to attend South Plains College and then Texas Tech University to study engineering; and WHEREAS, The son of proud parents Barry and Stacy Randolph, Mr. Randolph has earned the respect and admiration of his teachers and classmates at Priddy High, and his exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Logan Randolph on being named valedictorian of the Priddy High School Class of 2013 and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success as he begins the next exciting chapter in his life; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Randolph as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
