H.R. No. 2715 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Tanya Williams of Richmond has been participating in the 2013 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program, and during the 83rd Legislative Session, she has ably served her fellow Texans; and WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Mexican American Legislative Leadership Foundation, this program offers outstanding university students and recent graduates an opportunity to serve as full-time policy interns in the offices of members of the Mexican American Legislative Caucus and to gain experience working with the Texas Legislature; and WHEREAS, Ms. Williams is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin; she has a degree in corporate communications and hopes to continue her education by attending law school, with the ultimate goal of becoming an intellectual property lawyer; in addition, she would like to establish a foundation to fund research on the treatment and prevention of eye diseases; and WHEREAS, Over the course of her tenure at the State Capitol, Tanya Williams has rendered valuable assistance, while acquiring knowledge of issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; she has performed her duties as a legislative aide with skill, perseverance, and dedication, and she may indeed look forward to a rewarding future; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby honor Tanya Williams as a participant in the 2013 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program and commend her for her notable contributions to the legislative process; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Williams as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
