H.R. No. 482
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A number of current and former McGregor High School
students received a great honor when their artwork was published
through the Cards for Kids program of Cook Children's Medical
Center in Fort Worth in 2012; and
WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Woman's Board of the medical
center, the Cards for Kids initiative promotes holiday-themed
greeting cards designed by young artists; proceeds from sales
support the board's mission of enhancing the child-friendly
environment at the medical center; and
WHEREAS, The 2012 designs included drawings from McGregor
High School students Maria Torres, Alan Hollingsworth, Celestino
Trejo, Maria and Raunel Suarez, Brenna Oakes, Lily Martinez,
Jessika Foit, and Courtney White; and
WHEREAS, These notable Texans have demonstrated talent and
creativity while contributing to the well-being of others, and they
may take justifiable pride in their achievement; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the current and former McGregor
High School students whose artwork was published by the Cook
Children's Medical Center Cards for Kids program in 2012 and extend
to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
