 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Members of the Texas 4-H Livestock Ambassadors
 program are visiting the State Capitol on February 26, 2013; and
 WHEREAS, The ambassadors program provides leadership
 development, educational enrichment, and career guidance for high
 school students interested in pursuing agricultural professions;
 ambassadors each complete 30 hours of service in activities such as
 teaching new 4-H families about livestock ethics and animal care
 and making presentations concerning animal agriculture; and
 WHEREAS, Participants additionally study college-level
 courses in animal science at the College of Agricultural Sciences
 and Natural Resources at Texas Tech University and the College of
 Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University and must
 successfully complete a challenging final exam; the program
 facilitates valuable personal and professional connections for its
 students, most of whom later enroll in an agriculture program in
 college; and
 WHEREAS, Current ambassadors include: Gabe Jennings of Mason
 County, Lauren Verfurth and Jacob Epps of Williamson County,
 Rebecca Lazenby and Tommy Joe Ozio of Madison County, Callie
 Zoeller of Coryell County, Will Hussey of Brazos County, Shelby
 James and Tara Liska of Live Oak County, Jessica Cowan of Lamar
 County, Bridgett O'Brien of Comal County, Abby Christian of Walker
 County, Cheyanne Millican of Gaines County, Joelle Foster of
 Bastrop County, Rachel Gibbs of Runnels County, Victoria Barksdale
 of McCullough County, Robyn Perez of Hidalgo County, Taylor
 Shearrer of Atascosa County, Megan Grant of Fort Bend County, Jack
 Clark of Hartley County, Leah Bauer of Kerr County, and Layton Schur
 of Hale County; and
 WHEREAS, The Texas 4-H Livestock Ambassadors program gives
 students invaluable background and experience to help them to
 become successful, active, and civic-minded members of
 agricultural professions, thus benefiting the Lone Star State for
 decades to come; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby honor the members of the Texas 4-H Livestock
 Ambassadors program and extend to them sincere best wishes for
 continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
 for the students as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
 of Representatives.
