 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A life made rich by meaningful service drew to a
 close with the death of Balch Springs City Council member Karen Gray
 on February 4, 2013; and
 WHEREAS, Born in 1951, Ms. Gray made her home in Balch
 Springs for 28 years, during which time she became an active member
 of the community; and
 WHEREAS, She served three terms on the city council, applying
 her expertise as a financial advisor to help ensure the city's
 fiscal health; in addition, she contributed to the area as a member
 of the Dallas County Water Control and Improvement District Board
 of Directors, the Balch Springs Planning and Zoning Commission, the
 Civil Service Commission, and the Animal Advisory Board; and
 WHEREAS, Committed to enhancing the quality of life in Balch
 Springs, Karen Gray set an outstanding example of leadership and
 dedication that remains to inspire all those who knew her; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Karen Gray and extend
 deepest sympathy to her family and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Karen Gray.
