 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, For more than half a century, the Richardson
 Republican Women's Club has made significant contributions to its
 North Texas community; and
 WHEREAS, Founded in 1958, the club has continually expanded
 its efforts to promote positive change through its participation in
 many worthy endeavors; to that end, members have devoted their time
 and energy to donating books to the library and dictionaries to
 third-graders at local schools and to assisting area families in
 various ways; moreover, they support American troops at home and
 abroad, making and delivering personalized quilts and sending cards
 and care packages; and
 WHEREAS, The club has garnered numerous accolades, winning
 the top awards from the National Federation of Republican Women and
 the Texas Federation of Republican Women since 1995 as well as
 certificates from the state and county party organizations; in
 addition, the group has been the recipient of special honors for
 participation, activity, and teamwork; members who have earned
 individual recognition include Susan Fischer, who received the
 Dallas County Council of Republican Women Anita Hill Award in 2011,
 June Rentmeester, who was selected as one of the 10 top Republican
 Women in Texas, and Jan Woody, who was named Volunteer of the Year
 for Senate District No. 8 by the state Republican Party; and
 WHEREAS, The active engagement of citizens in the political
 process is the foundation of American government, and the members
 of the Richardson Republican Women's Club have furthered that vital
 tradition as a result of their outstanding volunteerism through the
 decades; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby honor the Richardson Republican Women's Club for
 its notable contributions to the community and extend to its
 members sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the club as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
