 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Baylor University sophomore Tara Hutchison earned
 an exceptional honor when she was invited to speak at the Academic
 Surgical Congress 2013 in New Orleans on February 7; and
 WHEREAS, A biology student and a cadet in the Baylor ROTC
 program, Ms. Hutchison recently participated in a research
 fellowship at the San Antonio Military Medical Center at Fort Sam
 Houston; she studied the disease venous thromboembolism by
 conducting a review of combat casualties who were treated over a
 10-year period, and she determined that amputees are at a higher
 risk of developing VTE; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Hutchison's important efforts will help to
 raise awareness of this life-threatening condition while aiding the
 medical community in safeguarding the health of the brave men and
 women who defend this nation; and
 WHEREAS, By performing highly regarded research while still
 an undergraduate, Tara Hutchison has distinguished herself and her
 university, and she may indeed take justifiable pride in her
 achievement; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Tara Hutchison on being invited to
 present her research findings at the Academic Surgical Congress
 2013 and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in
 all of her endeavors; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Hutchison as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
