 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A 55th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
 mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Richard Carl and
 Margaret "Kit" Froebel of New Braunfels celebrated that joyous
 milestone in their marriage on February 22, 2013; and
 WHEREAS, Dick Froebel and the former Margaret Lenore Norman
 first met in Houston where they both worked for Hughes Tool Company;
 they were joined in matrimony in 1958 in a ceremony held at the
 First United Methodist Church in Perry, Oklahoma; through the
 years, they have been blessed with
 a treasured family that includes
 two daughters, Susan and Elizabeth, as well as a grandson, Jack; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Froebel holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical
 engineering from Purdue University and was employed by NASA and
 Lockheed Martin after leaving Hughes Tool; in the course of his
 career, he worked on the Skylab and space shuttle programs, and he
 helped patent a process for determining gas volume in a
 zero-gravity environment; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Froebel was one of the first female drafters to
 graduate with an associate's degree from Oklahoma Agricultural and
 Mechanical College; she later started her own business selling
 collectable gold and silver thimbles and has become a recognized
 expert in the field; her accomplishments include partnering with
 Mr. Froebel to make and market the Thimblescope, a fiber-optic
 identification tool used by collectors; and
 WHEREAS, Former residents of Houston, Mr. and Mrs. Froebel
 were members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and the police
 department citizens patrol group while living there; today, the
 couple enjoy many new friends in New Braunfels, where they moved in
 2000, following Mr. Froebel's retirement; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Froebel have enjoyed five and a half
 decades of abiding love and affection for each other, and they are
 among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a
 lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Dick and Kit Froebel on their 55th
 wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
 continued happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Froebel as an expression of high regard
 by the Texas House of Representatives.
