 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Kathryn Funk-Baxter has been honored by the YWCA of
 Corpus Christi with a Y Women in Careers Award for her outstanding
 professional accomplishments; and
 WHEREAS, Created in 1979, the Y Women in Careers Award honors
 individuals in the Coastal Bend community who have achieved
 distinction in their field; these inspiring individuals serve as
 role models for young girls and demonstrate that women can excel in
 every occupation; during the 33rd annual awards celebration, held
 on March 7, 2013, this year's honorees joined an elite list of
 notable female leaders; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Funk-Baxter serves as executive vice president
 for finance and administration at Texas A&M University--Corpus
 Christi; she has more than 30 years of accounting and finance
 experience and has been with A&M--Corpus Christi since 1994; this
 esteemed administrator holds a master's degree in business
 administration from The University of Texas at San Antonio and a
 bachelor's degree in business administration from Southwest Texas
 State University; and
 WHEREAS, Through her tireless dedication and consummate
 professionalism, Kathryn Funk-Baxter has indeed set a worthy
 example for this and future generations; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Kathryn Funk-Baxter on her receipt
 of a 2013 Y Women in Careers Award from the Corpus Christi YWCA and
 extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her
 endeavors; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Funk-Baxter as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
