No. 946 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew to a close when Captain Robert Lee Wise, Jr., of the Midland Fire Department passed away on February 23, 2013, at the age of 54; and WHEREAS, Born on January 12, 1959, in Midland, Lee Wise was the son of Robert Lee Wise, Sr., and Beverly Wise; he earned an associate's degree in fire science from Midland College and then joined the Midland Fire Department, where he went on to serve for 27 years; he spent the majority of his tenure as a captain and paramedic, and he served as president of International Association of Fire Fighters Local No. 4405 for nearly a decade; and WHEREAS, Captain Wise was much admired by his colleagues and friends alike for his leadership, compassion, and dedication to duty; in his spare time, he liked to read, solve crossword puzzles, and listen to the blues; and WHEREAS, Lee Wise enjoyed the love and support of his wife of nearly three decades, Sue, and he took great pride in a daughter, Sara, and a granddaughter, Cayden; and WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Captain Wise will remember the way he touched their lives with his kindness and generosity, and he will forever hold a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Robert Lee Wise, Jr., and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his wife, Sue Wise; to his daughter, Sara Wise; to his parents, Robert Lee Wise, Sr., and Beverly Wise; to his granddaughter, Cayden Savage; to his sister, Mary Ann Wise; to his nephews, Casey Billingsley and Keith Brittain; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Captain Lee Wise.
