No. 952 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by many of this nation's leaders, and the attainment of this significant honor by Chase Parker Heffernan of Georgetown also heralds a future bright with opportunity and promise; and WHEREAS, A freshman at Georgetown High School and a member of First United Methodist Church who currently attends Wellspring United Methodist Church, this fine young Texan has mastered a number of important skills in his quest to become an Eagle Scout; he has earned 33 merit badges requiring expertise in such diverse areas as first aid, personal fitness, and environmental science, and he has gained experience in leadership and teamwork while undertaking his Eagle Scout project, which involved constructing two garden boxes for the students at Ford Elementary School; and WHEREAS, Having contributed 121 volunteer hours to 33 service projects, Mr. Heffernan has served his peers as a leader, and in so doing, he has exemplified the many positive traits for which Boy Scouts are renowned; and WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Chase Heffernan has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the organization and its ideals, and the knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the way will indeed serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Chase Parker Heffernan on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Heffernan as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
