                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 10, 2013      TO: Honorable Robert Duncan, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB104 by West (Relating to the reapportionment of congressional districts and the creation, function, and duties of the Texas Congressional Redistricting Commission.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would establish a Texas Congressional Redistricting Commission and delegate the Legislature's congressional redistricting powers to that body. The bill would require the Texas Legislative Council (TLC) to provide technical staff and clerical services to the commission.   Based on information provided by the TLC and the Secretary of State, it is anticipated that any additional resources necessary to implement the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.  Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
