A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to a semiannual report on revenue collections prepared by
the comptroller.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 403, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 403.0143 to read as follows:
Sec. 403.0143. REPORT ON REVENUE COLLECTED. (a) Every six
months, the comptroller shall report to the legislature and the
governor on the total amount of revenue collected in the six-month
period preceding the report.
(b) The report must be similar in format and detail to the
comptroller's statement required by Section 49a, Article III, Texas
Constitution, and must compare, for the six-month period covered by
the report, the actual revenue collected to the estimate of
anticipated revenue contained in the statement.
SECTION 2. The first report required under Section
403.0143, Government Code, as added by this Act, is due January 15,
2014, and must cover the period from July 1, 2013, to January 1,
2014.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
