The bill would amend the Government Code, Chapter 2054 to require all state agencies to develop and update an information security plan, which shall be submitted to the Department of Information Resources every two years. Multiple agencies including the Department of Information Resources (DIR), the Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA), the Teacher Retirement System (TRS), the Employees Retirement System (ERS), the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) and the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) anticipate any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.
