The bill relates to the asset management and acquisition by institutions of higher education. The bill includes provisions relating to the authority of the board of regents of the Texas A&M University System to dispose of real property and mineral interests under its jurisdiction and for the University of Texas System to acquire certain land near the City of Brownsville for campus and other university purposes. Provisions of the bill would be implemented within existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
