The bill would amend the Insurance Code relating to certain inquiries made by the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) to insurers. The bill would require TDI to provide a 10-day extension to respond to the inquiry to any person requesting an extenstion in writing within the allowable time frame. The bill would further require TDI to maintain a record of all inquiries made by the department. Based on analysis by TDI, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
