The bill would add sexual abuse and trafficking to the list of offenses that would make a victim eligible for a protective order. The bill would also permit applications for certain protective orders to be filed in any county in which an element of the alleged offense occurred or any court with with jurisdiction over previously issued applicable protective orders. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
