The bill would amend Article 44.2811, Code of Criminal Procedure, to expand confidentiality of a childs records to apply to a child who received a dismissal after deferred disposition for a fine-only misdemeanor other than a traffic offense. The Office of Court Administration reported that the bill may result in fewer expunctions (and the associated $30 fee), however fiscal impact to state and local judiciaries are is not expected to be significant.
