The bill would amend the Family Code as it relates to the procedures for the placement of children with certain relatives or other designated caregivers. The bill would apply only to the placement of a child for whom the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is named managing conservator on or after the effective date of the bill. The bill would take effect September 1, 2013. DFPS does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact as a result of complying with the provisions of the bill. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
