       AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT   C.S.S.B. 53 amends current law relating to the definition of "advanced life support" for the purposes of providing emergency medical services.    RULEMAKING AUTHORITY   This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.   SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS   SECTION 1. Amends Sections 773.003(1), Health and Safety Code, as follows:   (1) Redefines "advanced life support" to mean emergency prehospital care that uses invasive medical acts, including an advanced life support assessment.    SECTION 2. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2013.

C.S.S.B. 53 amends current law relating to the definition of "advanced life support" for the purposes of providing emergency medical services. 

 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

 

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

 

SECTION 1. Amends Sections 773.003(1), Health and Safety Code, as follows:

 

(1) Redefines "advanced life support" to mean emergency prehospital care that uses invasive medical acts, including an advanced life support assessment. 

 

SECTION 2. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2013.
