The bill would amend the Water Code, Section 16.055 to add the Public Utility Commission and the independent organization certified for the ERCOT power region to the drought preparedness council. The Public Utilities Commission (PUC) indicates that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agencys existing resources. Current council member agencies including the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA), the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the Soil and Water Conservation Board (TSSWCB), the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TWDB), the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service (AL-EXT), and the Texas A&M Forest Service (TFS) indicate no fiscal impact to their agencies. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
