                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 11, 2013      TO: Honorable Byron Cook, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB67 by Nelson (Relating to reporting requirements for institutions of higher education conducting human stem cell research.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require institutions of higher education to report expenditures on human embryonic stem cell research and adult stem cell research to the Higher Education Coordinating Board. The Higher Education Coordinating Board would be required to submit this information to the legislature no later than January 1 of each year. Provisions of the bill would be implemented within existing resources.  Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
