The bill would amend the Insurance Code relating to the availability of certain property and casualty insurance forms. The bill would allow an insurer to make a specimen policy, standardized form, available to an insured for a personal automobile, commercial automobile, inland marine, or residential property policy by posting a specimen policy on the insurer's Internet website and providing an electronic copy to the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) and the Office of Public Insurance Counsel (OPIC) that may be posted on the agencies' websites. Based on information provided by the TDI and OPIC, it is assumed that any costs associated with the implementation of this bill could be absorbed within existing staff and resources.
